Speedwatch Scheme

As speeding within the village, and especially along the A617, remains a safety concern one of our residents is looking to set up a Speedwatch Scheme - this will be supported by NSDC and the local Policing Team in terms of training, equipment and support.

It is hoped that a group of volunteers will be able to monitor traffic in the hope that drivers will have increased awareness of their surroundings and adjust their speeds accordingly - both at the time and going forward, especially as making regular users slow down may have a 'ripple effect'.

Volunteers can work in groups of three so it is hoped that more will register interest in order to share timeslots.

With training available during March, please contact Colin McGarrigle / the Clerk (kirklingtonpc@gmail.com) if you are interested in taking part.

Thank you for your support.
